Texas Paper and Iron 2001

Penny, Nathan Taylor, Roy Stedman and I made the trip to the always excellent Coors-Infinity Texas Paper and Iron Championship, in Midland-Odessa. The match is similar to Steel Challenge and Bianchi Cup: it's a relatively 'pure' test of shooting skill that uses the same stages each year. Dubbed 'the undiscovered jewel' by American Handgunner magazine years ago, it's always a great match that's fun to shoot with a great prize table. This year I shot a personal best score, finishing 6th overall and winning the 'Top of Class' shootoff. Nathan Taylor won B Limited class and was 2nd Limited overall! Roy Stedman finished 15th overall, and Penny ended up 2nd woman, rebounding from a major scope failure during the second stage. Here are some photos from the match.
